Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, St Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Daylesford required an upgrade to facilitate the implementation of the modern learning curriculum and to support a growing student body by improving the adaptability of existing learning spaces and renovating both the interiors and exterior grounds.
As part of this project, a previously under-utilised space was transformed into an open, flexible learning and play area, designed to encourage independent exploration while ensuring teachers can still provide supervision.
BowdenCorp was proud to deliver this project, which included internal demolition, refurbishment and alterations to learning spaces within the main occupied school building. The revitalisation also extended to the school’s library, a specialised STEM room and quiet study areas, along with essential roof maintenance works.
To accommodate for children with additional sensory requirements, the interior is designed with natural colours, soft lighting and quiet acoustics. The special designs also allow students to partake in imaginary play as well as interact with children from other classes and year levels.
The new spaces are already making a difference in students’ learning and social connections. It was an honour to help bring this vision to life alongside St Michael’s Primary and the wider school community.
